Moth Watching Experience
During the National moth week , we tried moth screen in our home and sadly with the giant lizards in our home, no moths came to our moth screen. We got a chance to visit Kalikesam eco camp for Moth watching. There also the results were dull. Our next moth watching experience was in Sirumalai. Along with Mr.Thalavai Paandi, Mr.Thanigaivel and Mr.Rameshwaran we set off to Sirumalai. Thalavai Paandi had arranged for a small genset , so that we can setup moth screen anywhere in the forest.

Manas National Park
Manas National Park is located in Assam. This forest is home for big mammals and the forest department allows safari ride for the tourists. I am not sure why this safari is not as famous as the ones provided in other Tiger Sanctuaries.

Barsey Rhododendron sanctuary is located in West Sikkim at an altitude of 10,000ft. Like the name states, it was famous for rhododendrons. Our stay was at the end of the village zone, so it was very quiet as we liked it.

Vallanadu Blackbuck Sanctuary
Vallanadu wildlife sanctuary is a small sanctuary of 16.4 sq.kms is created for the protection of the Indian antelope / Blackbuck. This blackbuck protection sanctuary is located at Tuticorin in Tamilnadu. The blackbuck population was spread across India in earlier times but with hunting and habitat destruction , their population is now restricted in few isolated forest patches.
