Kaas Plateau – Valley Of Flowers
The Kaas plateau is part of the Sahyadri mountains of Western Ghats. The region is one of the biodiversity hotspots in India with several species of flora calling it home. After the rains in July the Kaas plateau transforms into a lush green meadow and once the balsams start blooming the entire area is covered with a carpet of flowers. If you are a wildflower lover, in India Kaas plateau is a place you should not miss. When it comes to flowers we are meticulous searchers and we spotted several species of orchids. We saw so many colorful,unique shaped flowers but our favorite is the simplest one, the water snowflake. The flower really looked like snow on water as it covered the entire water body on the Kaas plateau. In this post we are listing some of the special ones that caught our attention.

While the flowers all looked so beautiful, the travel to reach Kaas plateau was equally beautiful and adventurous . The adventurous journey started with a wrong turn very early in the morning.
